Recipe – Beef Rendang and Rice

This is yet another Healthy mummy recipe. I am a healthy Mummy member so of course a lot of my new recipes are from this site, but so worth it.

What I love about these beef slow cook meals is that it is done with the cheapest cut of meat and when you bulk up with rice and vegetables its a really cheap meal.

For those wanting to make for family, this isn’t a really spicy meal, the spice level is more flavour than heat.

Ingredients (Makes 4 servings) 465 Calories

1 brown onion, roughly chopped (100 grams)
3 cloves garlic (9 grams)
1 tbsp ground ginger (4 grams)
1/4 tsp ground turmeric (0.25 grams)
1 small red chilli (10 grams)
1/4 cup water (62.5 mls)
600 grams stewing steak e.g. lean chuck steak
2 tsp extra virgin olive oil (10 mls)
